January 2027 SRITC Virtual Cafe:BYOC
Register now to join SRITC's January 2027 Virtual Cafe:BYOC. The theme for the first Cafe of 2027 is sustainable rural community transport and tourism.
We'll be joined by Phyllis Picken the driving force behind Kilmory Community Bus on the south end of the Isle of Arran/ Phyliss will share her insights on the success of the service that's been operating for 30+ years as a charity. The bus provides village and island wide transport, supporting a wide range of kids and adults trips including Brownies, school swimming lessons, event shuttles, music group tours, and private family or group hires.
Alongside Phyliss, Kenny Auld from the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority (LLTNPA) will share some of the emerging headlines from the National Visitor Management Steering Group transport working group whose members are exchanging evidence that helps to build a better understanding of visitor travel patterns and car dependency with the aim to test more sustainable alternatives.
